About Wiep

This is the part of the website where I have to tell a little bit more about myself. Although I’m a little bit shy, I’ll give it a try…

My name is Wiep Knol (Wiep is pronounced as the ‘V’ from Vodka, with the ‘eep’ from Deep) and I live in the Netherlands. I started this blog for a couple of reasons; to improve both my writing and my English skills, to share my opinions about link building, to meet new people and to start conversations.

Most of the posts here will discuss similar topics, my field of interest contains link building, social media and other (link) marketing related issues. It’s not only a work thing -I am the Manager of Link Marketing at Tribal Internet Marketing in Den Bosch, The Netherlands-, but I also enjoy link related stuff when I’m not in the office. I have been speaking at several leading industry events, such as Search Marketing Expo (SMX), Search Engine Strategies (SES) and Affiliate4u Expo (A4U).

In 2008, I founded DotPioneers together with a good friend, where we create, develop and manage several fun online projects. If you happen to speak Dutch (or if you have always wanted to visit The Netherlands and never found a good reason before), you can read even more about me here or you can hear me speak about linking. By the way, if you speak Dutch, there’s a page in Dutch about link building as well.

Besides online marketing, Pugs are my other subject of interest. I guess it’s their pretty face. Although I loved winning a Semmy in the link building category, my most prestigious achievement was born on December 13th 2007 and he’s called Liam. Besides all online stuff and my son, I also enjoy watching football (soccer), baseball and movies.

If you want to know more about me, feel free to visit my Del.icio.us page, add me as your friend on StumbleUpon, follow me on Twitter, check out my Linkedin profile or send me an email. You can also drop me a comment; I’ll even leave the link juice tap open to those who post more than one comment (thanks to the amazing LinkLove plugin) until deleting spam takes up too much of my time.
