Very informative post! It was a great read because I have not read anything similar and the objectives are clear, concise, and easy to follow. However, I do have a question about doing custom padding around the images. Can this be set up via CSS file for every image featured in a post?

Sometimes I see websites/blogs who have their tagline around the image. It’s kind of a classy look.

Ahh, I love the “switch the image” gambit for people who are hotlinking to you. I’m sure Cracked.com had an image stolen, which they then replaced with something very unsavoury…

Not that I’d suggest this was a good idea!

i only ask for credit links from quality sites because a link from a scrapper site is usually useless… thanks for sharing this amazing tool, tineye, never knew an image reverse search exists.

hotlinking has always been a problem, it eats away too much of bandwidth, i ckeck my logs for hotlinking all the time and advices them to use the image by uploading it to their servers instead :)

@Cindy: Thanks. Yes, *most* people are not intentionally scum, but some will literally do anything to make a few quick bucks. Including stealing your images.
