Link Building this Month (08.2009)
Just like last month, I came across a few interesting articles that might be good reading material for those who try to obtain links through sending out press releases.
One of the best articles I’ve read in a while is Ken McGaffins list with 10 reasons why journalists may write about your site. Only link marketers who fully understand why people link to other sites in their niche can be optimally successful. Also, knowing the basics and trying to avoid PR mistakes and pitch no-nos can help as well :)
You probably haven’t missed SEOmoz launching their updated Search Engine Ranking Factors document, which they have expanded with a link building section as well now. The Search Engine Ranking Factors definitely are a good read – if you’re looking for more info on link value and valuating links, you can either read David Snyder or Jon Henshaws latest article.

Nice overview, as usual. Small remark: the link “knowing the basics” is broken, the url is http://http//www.socialmallard.com/socialmedia/the-very-basics-of-blogger-outreach/ , one http// to much.
@Oblomov – Thanks, fixed it!
Read those referred posts.. great resources indeed. Didn’t regret that I dropped by your blog. Thanks for sharing :)
Dude, the first commenter is a spammer with a list of marketing sites.
Anyways, this was a ridiculously good roundup. Found some awesome reading here ! Love it :D.
p.s. Link Value Factors is better than SEOmoz’s take, imho.

Extensive and rich supply of dofollow content in this text. Neverending need for dofollow blogs, he he :) But it is a necessity. Just keep up the good work, I have already bookmarked your blog.

The Search Engine Ranking Factors definitely are a good read – if you’re looking for more info on link value and valuating links. As the link value increase day by day google is also introducing more and more new tactics….
