Link Building this Month (05.2009)
A good link building campaign starts with a proper strategy. While some think that a goal like ‘obtaining more links’ is sufficient, there are lots of more goals that you can set for your link building campaign.
All these different types of goals also show you that -although pitching your site is part of a link marketer’s daily routine- link marketing is more than just sending out link requests. During any good link marketing training you’ll learn that link marketing is just a search engine optimized form of marketing. And that there are no secrets.

Thanks so much for that shout out, we’ll be posting more ideas like that as we have time.
@Wil: some probably didn’t look at it this way, but I saw several different ‘messages’ in your post;
- A good link builder asks questions
- There’s a link building opportunity in nearly anything
- Websites are being created about nearly anything (especially when it comes to pets…)
Thanks for putting this together…
Lots for me to read.
The most depressing link title is “there are no secrets”.
And perhaps the most eye catching link title is “Free links: The three principles”
Only three principle? I’ve got to read that.
I’ll also have a read of your “Link building from A to Z”
Keep up the good work
I think link building is one of the most difficult things. But it is definitely one of the most important ways to get on good terms with search engines. It still doesn’t seem like it matters how many links you have. You need links to your individual articles if you want them to rank high in search engines.
Wiep –
Good post. I agree with you that link building is like any other form of marketing. It’s a two way street. What does a site have to offer that visitors would want to share by way of links? I always look for a win-win situation.
